ABOUT THE ROLE

The VP of Business Development is responsible for managing, prospecting, engaging, and selling clients (both agency and pharma companies) digital advertising products across the BioNews portfolio of 50+ disease community websites.  This position will be responsible for managing and growing a book of business while also playing a key role in building creative sales strategies focused on customer satisfaction and revenue generation. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Leverage BioNews media solutions to retain existing business and establish new pharma DTC business across the BioNews websites & communities, the leading web resource providing rare disease content for patients, caregivers, and providers

  • Responsible for the long-term development of business relationships with executives at agencies and pharma clients

  • Work collaboratively with business development and client services team, along with other departments, including Strategy and Growth, to identify, source, pitch, define, negotiate, close and manage digital advertising revenue

  • Act as a subject matter expert in the marketplace, working to educate clients about BioNews offerings as it relates to their brands and marketing needs

  • Build awareness and adoption of the company’s offerings through client presentations, conference attendance, and direct sales

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for long-term revenue growth and strategic partnerships - travel to agencies/clients as needed

  • Handle client escalations as needed and be able to work with our team across AdOps and other internal departments

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related field.

  • Understanding of the digital media landscape is a must. 

  • 5-10 years experience in digital ad sales with a proven track record of winning business. 

  • Extensive experience utilizing SalesForce to track sales activities.

  • Wide range of existing relationships and contacts with agencies and clients across the pharma landscape.
